AFT portable fire fighting systems have successfully received European standard EN3 certification of A55 for A class fires and B233 for B class fires. This has been achieved with a portable back pack system using only 9 Ltr of water based AFT 01 extinguishing agent.

Backpack with a filling capacity of 9 Itr of extinguishing liquid

Total weight of the device empty / filled 13.2/22.2 kgs.
In this included: weight of the gun (max.) 1.9 kgs.
Working pressure: gun (max.) 7.5 bars
Working pressure: air cylinder (max.) 300 bars
  Lancing distance:
........Position of nozzle at 'Jet' 15-18 m
........Position of nozzle at 'Spray' 4-6m
Max. Consumption of extinguishing agent 0.4l/s
  EN3 Rating - .......................A Class A55
  .........................................B Class B233

The fire fighters now have an option for a new "type of extinguishing device for fighting fires in both indoor conditions (compatible with respiratory equipment) as well as outdoors with equal efficiency and efficacy. They also have the option of employing optimum extinguishing tactics for different kind of operations due to the variability of the extinguishing jet of AFT gun (angle of exit can be changed from 2.5 degree to 60 degree and ability to control & vary the duration of short shots" and permanent "shots".

Advantages of the AFT fire fighting systems

• mobility in fire fighting due to light weight ideal for rapid intervention vechicles, rescue teams, police, tunnel fires, forest fires, ships, ports, refineries, off shore oil platforms, gas stations, mines, etc.
• No hoses or preparation time ideal for first attack in fire fighting or post, extinguishing work.
• No water or collateral damage due to the optimal mist generated.
• Quick refilling cycle (less than 60 seconds).
• Virtually maintenance free.
• Uncomplicated operation suited even for untrained users.
• Usable for fire fighting in installations with high electrical voltages.
• Long life good for 5,000 refills.
• Environmentally friendly AFT 01, the extinguishing agent, certified as 100 % biodegradable, class 1 contamination.

Rocket technology now in fire fighting
The AFT extinguishing gun has been developed after extensive research, using the technology of rockets and its application in the field of aerodynamics of liquid and gas mixtures. This has provided the AFT gun with a unique fire fighting power that is unmatched in the industry.

The AFT gun uses specially constructed nozzles and chambers that atomise the water and air mixture to create droplets within the optimum diameter range of 100 150 microns. This narrow band of droplet size is known to provide optimum fire extinguishing power. These fine droplets are then propelled with supersonic velocity using only 7.5 bars pressure through a special accelerator in the gun.

Gold Medals were awarded to this patented solution at the invention Fairs in Brussels and Geneva in 1999 & 2000, and the First Merlion Award in Singapore in 2001.
